yeah...the old traditional (heritage) bronze turkeys that used to be THE Thanksgiving bird - the kind we all learned to color in school when we were kids - looked a lot like the wild ones. Before the big white breasted birds became the market fav.
i saw a heritage baby turkey in a pen at an estate sale once. that AIN'T a chicken. maybe like heritage pigs, heritage turkeys will be back.
